Aromatic hops with an alpha acid rating at 3.5%-5.5%. This variety is considered a noble hops. This designation fits Tettnanger, Spalt, and Saaz as well, and refers to their high amounts of humulene, and low amounts of alpha acids. Also these varieties have high aromatic qualities. Hallertau itself has tempered yet spicy aroma. It is useful any time during the brewing process from kettle additions, but is more favorable for late additions or during dry hop.
